![]() Spotify designer Lina shared the news on Twitter this morning: The small but valuable. Once you’re in the app, click on the “+” icon to create a new shortcut. The update catches Spotify up to Apple Music, as the latter gained search by lyrics back in 2018 with iOS 12. To do this, you need to download the Shortcuts app if you don’t already have it on your iPhone! The next step is to create a Shortcut that will change your voice recording into a text file. Once you’ve successfully record a working command for your favourite playlist, save it on your iCloud drive or somewhere you can retrieve it easily. Here is the trickiest part, you have to make sure that the playback of your recording can actually activate Siri! If you’ve done that by now, you’ve come to realised why I mentioned this is the trickiest part! Your recorded phrase have to be short AND clear enough to activate Siri and giving the full command before Siri cut your recordings short! Why not type-to-Siri? Well, because I haven’t figure it out yet! The answer is because Siri will only recognize your voice (assuming you’ve set up Siri with your own voice and you don’t sound like a robot). “Hey Siri, play (your playlist) on Spotify.” However, you need to be already awaken to do this or at least woken enough for Siri to understand your morning mumbles! In order to activate Siri, you need to literally speak the required commands i.e. However, there is still no direct way to use Spotify as an alarm clock! Hence, the idea of using the Shortcuts app to create an automation to activate Spotify at a set time came to mind! ![]() ![]() Since the released of iOS 14, Apple has begin to adopt some Android features like widget, home screen, icon customisation, etc… Basically a classier looking Android. Unfortunately, it only works on Android devices. ![]() Most people used to set their favourite songs to wake up to in the morning before and ended up hating the song after a while! Then a few years back, I found the perfect free clock from Google which links the alarm clock to Spotify. ![]()
